Exchange of good practices for adults with autism and their caregivers

CARE4AUTISM is the Erasmus+ project that involves the exchange of good practices for adults with autism spectrum disorder and their caregivers.
The project, lasting two years (2022-2024), is coordinated by the Belgian Brain Council in collaboration with Cooperativa Controvento, EPIONI (Greece), Fundacion Miradas (Spain) and the'Autism Society of Latvia (ASL) (Latvia).

The "Care4Autism" project aims to:
1) Reduce stigma and discrimination towards adults living with autism and their caregivers by sharing successful awareness campaigns.
2) Highlight effective practices in digital healthcare services for adults with autism spectrum disorder.
3) Alleviate the level of depression, stress, insecurity, and anxiety of caregivers about the future of adults with autism spectrum development.
4) Bring together high-functioning adults with autism who wish to develop their digital skills.
The activities that will be implemented are:
1) Guide to best practices for adults with autism spectrum development and their caregivers, with an emphasis on digital interventions.
2) National awareness events during World Autism Day - April 2022 and 2023.
3) Project meeting in Spain at the Mirandas Foundation and Autismo Burgos - Q&A session with professionals from the University of Burgos (UBU).
4) Final meeting in Brussels in collaboration with the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the European Brain Council (EBC).
We expect that Care4Autism:
1) will contribute to an "autism-friendly" environment;
2) reduce stigma and discrimination towards adults with autism spectrum disorder and the families who support them;
3) share successful awareness events;
4) share effective practices in digital healthcare services for adults living with autism;
5) promote cooperation at the European level;
6) improve the implementation of educational activities in the field of autism for all partners.
